Design & Atmosphere: Cyber-Piracy at its Finest

If Pirots 3 was a dusty shootout, Pirots 4 is a rave in a futuristic shipyard. ELK Studios has outdone itself with the production value here. The four iconic birds—Blue, Green, Purple, and Red—now sport cybernetic enhancements and neon plumage.

The background is a shimmering, animated cityscape of “Neo-Tortuga,” complete with flying ships and holographic rum bottles. The soundtrack is a synth-wave remix of a traditional sea shanty, which sounds bizarre on paper but works perfectly in practice. The animations are buttery smooth, especially when the birds start zip-lining across the grid to gobble up gems.

Core Mechanics: The “Collect-Way” System

For the uninitiated, Pirots 4 doesn’t use paylines or clusters. Instead, it uses the Collect-Way mechanic. You start with a 6×6 grid and four birds dropped in random positions.

The Movement

Birds move horizontally or vertically to collect gems of their own color.

The Cascades

When gems are collected, new ones drop in, and the birds continue their rampage as long as there are matching colors or feature symbols adjacent to them.

Grid Expansion

Collecting enough symbols triggers a grid expansion, pushing the boundaries out to a massive 8×8 layout, providing more room for the birds to maneuver.

Feature Symbols: A Toolbox of Chaos

The “Feature Meter” at the top of the screen fills as gems are collected. Once full, it releases three “Feature Symbols” onto the grid. This is where the game transforms from a simple collector into a high-win engine:

Upgrade Symbols (Silver & Gold): Silver upgrades the gems of one color by 1–3 levels. Gold upgrades all gem colors simultaneously. Since gem values increase exponentially as they level up, the Gold Upgrade is the “holy grail” of the base game.

Transform Symbols: These turn adjacent gems into the color of the bird that collected it, or into other feature symbols.

The Coin Symbols: These are instant cash prizes. If a bird reaches a “Max Win” coin, you’ve hit the 10,000x cap instantly.

The “Cyber-Egg”: A new addition for Pirots 4. When collected, it hatches a “Mini-Bird” that acts as a scout, collecting symbols from a distance and bringing them back to the main bird, extending the turn significantly.

The Super-Collect: Clears the entire grid of a specific color, triggering a massive refresh.

The Bonus Games: Free Drops & Super Bonus

• The grid size, gem upgrade levels, and the progress on the Feature Meter are persistent throughout the bonus. This is crucial; by the final drop, you could be playing on an 8×8 grid with max-level gems, where every single move results in a massive payout.
